These are the images from the end of day one and day two of Cait sitting for us at the Dana Warp "Mill Painters".
Shea week two. Next week we critique the work then tear the clay off the armature and start a new pose. I think it will be Shea again.
I'm taking a Continuing Studies figure sculpture class at MECA with John Ventimiglia. I've never worked with clay quite like this and it's so much fun. This was a model I've painted a couple times and it was great to try a new medium. He stands on a 6 foot round lazy susan and John gives him a bit of a turn every 10 minutes or so to give you a different aspect. You press the clay onto a wire armature that is mounted to the pipe that you see in the photo. So much fun!

I am focusing on figurative work right now. I attend two groups and for the next few weeks I'm taking a sculpture class working from a model.
